After a pre Xmas soft launch of Dublin Porteños Argentine Tango School in November, we are very excited for the New Year and the official opening of the school along with the new website. We have four main events to look forward too:
Intensive introductory Seminars
These will be held on the 13th of January and 10th of February in the upstairs area of the wonderful McGowan’s of Phibsboro which has been recently renovated to give a “Moulin Rouge” feel to the place, perfect for creating the right ambience for Tango.
The events will be 3 hours long with 1 hour each devoted to learning the basics of the three main dances within the Tango universe:
- Tango
- Tango Vals
- Milonga
The event will also provide dinner and a drink as it will undoubtedly be thirsty work!
6 Week Beginners Course
This will start on Monday the 15th of Jan and will run for 6 weeks in the fabulous ITW Studios in the Drumcondra Arts and Business Campus.
The classes will focus on the basic building blocks in Tango providing an introduction to: Axis, Basic Musicality, Paradas, Barridas, Ochos, Lapiz, Baldosa Box and the 8 count Basic step. The goal at the end is that the student has a vocabulary to enjoy their 1st steps on the social dance floor.
6 Week Intermediate Course
This will start on Monday the 15th of Jan and will run for 6 weeks in the fabulous ITW Studios in the Drumcondra Arts and Business Campus.
This will focus on combing the basic movements and techniques into patterns for the social dance floor. The emphasis will be on floor craft, a comfortable embrace and musicality within the movements.
