What to expect

On Sunday evening Dublin Porteños will be Introducing “Punk Tango” to the milonga a Dublin based Tango ensemble established in 2017.

The band name speaks to rebelling against the status quo and challenging perceptions and given the expertise and breath of inspiration of the musicians, it’s clear they are here to push the genre forward. They have a large repertoire of jazz and rock infused Tangos from the pre-golden age of Gardel, the pulsing rhythms of Hugo Diaz to the dynamic Astor Piazzolla.

With a special arrangement on Sunday evening made specially for the Milonga, we have:

Javier Machado: Guitar. From Argentina, born Into the milonga’s of BA with a Classical & Jazz background.

Berk Talay: Violin.Turkey. Music Professor in Dublin. Popular Turkish Music & Classical backgrounds.

Daniel Calero: Clarinetist. From Spain. Classical Background.

It’s going to be a great evening of Tango,

hope to see you there!
